Taking its cues from the broken planes and tilted objects of Cubist masters such as Braque and Gris, as well as the polished art of the Art Deco movement, this brilliant painting showcases the elements of a 1940s whiskey sour, including bottles, citrus and a jigger. The patterns and geometries of the painting are invigorating and dizzying, and the colors are rich and subdued. The medium is oil on canvas, and the painting is stretched but not framed.
