Antique portrait titled 'Henry VIII K of Engl. France & Ireland defender of yr faith began his reign at 18 years of Age (..)'. Engraving of Henry VIII, King of England. Bust length with beard, plumed jewelled cap, jewelled collar, embroidered robes, and mantle. Within an oval border with English inscription on the frame. With a scene of a child dressing in the manner of the Pope below. Artists and Engravers: Jacobus Houbraken (1698-1780) was a Dutch engraver and the son of the artist and biographer Arnold Houbraken (1660–1719), whom he assisted in producing a published record of the lives of artists from the Dutch Golden Age. A pair of fine engravings of two Swedish monarchs by Samuel Blessendorf for Puffendorf’s History of Sweden, in antique birch frames, 1663 and 1696. Engravings of Swedish King Karl X Gustav (b. 1622 - d. 1660) dated 1663 and his successor, King Karl XI (b. 1655 - d. 1697) from 1696 by Samuel Blessendorf, a Prussian enamel painter and engraver, born in Berlin in 1670.
