Märta Måås-Fjetterström signed “Bandet” Tapestry by Ann-Mari Forsberg

About the Item

Portman Gallery is pleased to present a tapestry woven in Bastad at the storied weavery Märta Måås-Fjetterström, designed by Ann Marie Forsberg in the mid-twentieth century. “Bandet,” it is called, “The Band.” Recently framed and in very good condition. Forsberg worked under Barbro Nilsson and was also a life-long teacher of weaving. Her large works and her small works share a commitment to vibrant color, and perhaps most of all to rhythm. The most musical of the MMF weavers, AMF’s name and signature are right up there with the weavery’s two legends, Barbro Nilsson and MMF herself. You are welcome to come see this work on the wall in Brooklyn. Next day and rush delivery available.
