THIS IS A STUNNING VICTORIAN - ART NOUVEAU - BELLE EPOQUE FESTOON NECKLACE WITH THE MOST GORGEOUS NATURAL SALMON CORAL CABOCHONS AND PENDANT WITH SEED PEARLS IN A CLASSIC FLORAL FLOWER MOTIF OPEN WORK SWAG DESIGN IN 10K ROSE GOLD DATING TO CIRCA 1880.
The necklace is 10 Karat rose gold in a classic Victorian swag festoon design. These festoon necklaces are so lovely and hang beautifully around the neck. The jewel has a nature inspired flower motif with leaves and curling stems centered with a lovely natural salmon coral cabochon and seed pearls, with a pear shaped salmon coral pendant hanging from it.
The design is full of the delicate romance of the age and is so special with the coral which is all the rage today! It dates to c1880. These original Victorian festoon necklaces in gold with coral have become almost impossible to find today.
The necklace is 14 1/2 (38cm) inches long. The central portion hangs down 44mm (1 3/4 inches) and is 26 mm (1 inch) wide.
The necklace is hallmarked 10K on the clasp and on the pendant.
