Pair of Arthur Stone American Arts & Crafts Sterling Silver Olive or Nuts Dishes

About the Item

A fine pair of olive or nut dishes for the cocktail bar. By Arthur Stone. In hand-hammered sterling silver. Each hand-hammered bowl has a small flared foot and a 'berries & vine' etched decoration to its center. Curiously, the central decoration of one is convex, while the decoration of the other is slightly concave. With a "H" benchmark for Arthur L Hartwell. Simply a wonderful pair of Arthur Stone bowls! Date: 1920s Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: With nicks, dings, and edge wear to the rim and foot rim, some light indentations to the bowls (they are slightly out of round), and surface scratches and wear to the interiors. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Arthur Stone Marks: Marked to the base for the Arthur Stone studio / Sterling / "H" benchmark Measurements: Diameter: ca. 3 5/8 in. Height: ca. 3/4 in.
