About the Item
This champagne cover belongs to our collection “K-over Art”. Indeed, the artist depicted on a pure silver 999/°° K-OVER a scene of the Dante’s Divine Comedy. In the year to come, Florence will celebrate the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death. To join the celebrations, we decided to reproduce a draw originally made by Gustave Doré. The cover portrays the giants being imprisoned because of their misbehaviour.
The cover has been completely handcrafted by Lorenzo Foglia, a Florentine master goldsmith. The production process took several months and the techniques used are repoussage and chasing. The core value of the product is given by its artistic perfection. Indeed, the artist worked a single piece of silver and the complexity of the task was increased by the fact that the reverse side is missing. It is also important to underline the great attention in chiseling human bodies. In the future, it will be hard to find such a talented artist.
Artist information:
Lorenzo Foglia, was born in Viareggio in 1971. He grew up in his family workshop, and still very young, started working there together with his father and grandfather. There, he studied the art of metalworking and learned embossing and chisel techniques. During his career, he created furniture and jewellery for European Royal Families as well as for the theatre and film industry. In addition, he won twice the international competition "Art in a jewel”, promoted by Florence Gift Mart. Today, he is President of the “Silversmiths of the city of Florence” and he is “Master Craftsman” recognized by Regione Toscana. Recently, he has been working with K-OVER for the project: K-over Art. He signed all the champagne cover he chiselled.

K-OVER is the new brand of P.M.P Firenze, a company with more than 40 years of experience in the silverware industry. Working in this market for such a long period, enabled us to develop a completely new product: a modern glacette. Indeed, our covers can maintain your precious bottles of champagne chilled. The cover can be used as many times as you want: by unscrewing the cap at its bottom, it is possible to change the champagne. All covers are new and have been only exhibited in public events. Covers are suitable for champenoise bottles such as: Moët Et Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Cristal, Pol Roger, Piper-Heidsieck, Perrier Jouët, Taittinger, Mumm, Ferrari, Berlucchi.
All our champagne covers are produced in solid silver 999/°°. The usage of pure material is a novelty, as a matter of fact, silverware is usually produced in sterling silver. Our choice can be explained by three reasons. Firstly, we want to provide a high valuable product to our customers. Secondly, pure silver is hard to oxidise, so that it is easier to be cleaned. Last but not least, silver has an antibacterial property which make it safe.

The cover has been completely handcrafted by Marco Fedi, a Florentine master goldsmith. The production process took one month and the techniques used are spinning and chasing.
Artist information:
Marco Fedi started his career in the ‘80s, working for the most prestigious workshops in Florence. During the years, he worked for Tiffany, Bulgari, Christofle and Cartier. Today, he is collaborating with K-OVER for the projects K-over Memories and K-over Design.
