21st Century, Champagne cover, Solid pure silver, Battaglia di Camollia, Italy

About the Item

This champagne cover is a real work of art. As a matter of fact, we managed to reproduce the famous fresco “Battaglia di Camollia” (by Giorgio Vasari) on a pure silver 999/°° K-OVER. The artist chased what happened during the night of the 26th of January 1554: the attack of one of the Sienese forts, near Porta Camollia, which marked the beginning of the war between Siena and Florence. This masterpiece has been exposed at Four Season (2019, Florence), Cannes Yachting Festival (2019, Cannes) and Origin (2019, Milan). The cover has been completely handcrafted by Giuliano Foglia, a Florentine master goldsmith. The production process took several months and the techniques used are repoussage and chasing. The core value of the product is given by its artistic perfection. Indeed, the artist worked a single piece of silver and the complexity of the task was increased by the fact that the reverse side is missing. It is also important to underline the great attention in chiseling human bodies. In the future, it will be hard to find such a talented artist. Artist information: Giuliano Foglia was born in 1947 in Florence. In the ‘60s, despite his young age, Giuliano started working with his father in the family workshop. There, he learned how to design, overhang and chisel. During his long career he realized Madonne, eighteenth-century scenes and fountains. His masterpieces are Calice of the Saint Galgano and the Cups for San Marino Grand Prix (F1). Thanks to his lifelong experience, he is now considered one of the best chisels in Italy. He has been recently working with K-Over for the project: K-over Art. Technical features: K-OVER is the new brand of P.M.P Firenze, a company with more than 40 years of experience in the silverware industry. Working in this market for such a long period, enabled us to develop a completely new product: a modern glacette. Indeed, our covers can maintain your precious bottles of champagne chilled. The cover can be used as many times as you want: by unscrewing the cap at its bottom, it is possible to change the champagne. All covers are new and have been only exhibited in public events. Covers are suitable for champenoise bottles such as: Moët Et Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Cristal, Pol Roger, Piper-Heidsieck, Perrier Jouët, Taittinger, Mumm, Ferrari, Berlucchi. All our champagne covers are produced in solid silver 999/°°. The usage of pure material is a novelty, as a matter of fact, silverware is usually produced in sterling silver. Our choice can be explained by three reasons. Firstly, we want to provide a high valuable product to our customers. Secondly, pure silver is hard to oxidise, so that it is easier to be cleaned. Last but not least, silver has an antibacterial property which make it safe.
