The eglomised mirror panel is encased into two sheets of clear glass, then framed with a contemporary blackened carved wood frame with Renaissance style.

Atlanta-based artist, Tim Hunter’s work stems from his love of nature and concern for the environment. In 2003 he began working primarily with images of birds as an expression of his spiritual connection with nature. After reading an article about the declining bird populations in Georgia, he turned his focus to environmental issues. An avid bird watcher, Tim also experienced the heavily wooded area he grew up in, slowly reduced to shopping malls and subdivisions. He uses asphalt and cement to create his works which refer to the loss of habitat due to human expansion, which is one of the main causes of declining bird populations. His silhouettes are taken from Audubon’s series “Birds of America” which references a period in the past when the bird populations in America were more abundant. During the COVID-19 lockdown, many faced swirling negative thoughts….. Atlanta sculptor, Eileen Braun, worked through the lockdown challenge and re-channeled that negative energy into her hands. As her hands cradled and examined the materials, her mind welcomed being in the moment and being grateful for what was. Those positive thoughts became her mantra while creating. Sachi Rome is a painter and a mixed media artist who views her process as a ritual. Utilizing expressive mark making, movement and texture through an experimental use of tools and materials, she creates a visual dialogue that explores spaces for Black people to exist without fear. Connections between identity, memory and African spirituality are entry points for creating a protected and safe space, free from the contrived world that fights to sustain the deception that Black bodies are a threat, and thus unworthy of peaceful existence. Her subjects are colorful, textured figures living in a visual space left open and void of outside negative forces. In creating visual avatars of these souls, she is regifting them with life, presence and audience. They are at home in their space and assured of a rarefied and precious safety, scarcely afforded to and felt by Black people. It is within her work that she offers portals and talismans of hope, healing and protection.
