19th Century French Renaissance Hunt Buffet ~ Vaisselier
Located in Dallas, TX
19th Century French Renaissance Hunt Buffet ~ Vaisselier is a marvelous work of the wood sculptor's art! Hand-crafted and carved from dense, old-growth white oak, it features a classical architecture that is embellished with bold full relief carvings from the crown to the base. The theme is a celebration of the bounty of nature and the spoils of the hunt, with amazingly realistic renderings including a stag, rabbit and boar. Two display shelves atop the main almost unfettered surface provide display options, and are upheld by lavishly scrolled and carved supports. A tier of drawers separates the serving surface from the spacious pair of cabinet doors below, all sumptuously carved and including lions' heads serving as the drawer pulls. Bold molding and bun feet complete the look. This design has proven very popular as a drink station...

It is a large-scale sideboard with four doors and architectural details throughout. Amazing oak grain visible throughout the piece. Smoked glass mirrors cover the front doors. At the death of Federico Martinotti, the last male descendant of the family, in the twenties, the widow gave way to Teresa and Maria Colli and the two companies reunited, assuming the name "Colli da 1831" (with the date they referred To the foundation of the firm Martinotti). Then came Pier Luigi Colli (1895-1968), younger brother of the two holders who had attended the courses of the École des arts décoratifs. Pier Luigi Colli, thanks to his close relationship with Paris, imported Lalique glasses and Jean Perzel decor lamps in Turin. The company took care of the real train setup, built by Fiat Ferroviaria and the technical office, led by Pier Luigi Colli, designed and produced the chairs of the Magna University of Turin and the furniture of the Turin seat of the Bank Italy and the Prefecture.
