19th Century Italian Bird’s-Eye Maple Chest of Drawers Commode

A stunning fine quality antique, circa 1860s/1870s Italian chest of drawers commode. Hand-crafted in Italy in the third quarter of the 19th century, influenced by Napoleon III Second Empire Period (1852-1870) in France, having a rectangular top with inset white Carrera marble top with attractive gray veining, framed by mahogany molding, over conforming canted corner solid wood case fitted with four richly figured birdseye maple faced drawers, affixed with the original ornate patinated gilt brass winged putti pulls and escutcheons, rising on turned feet in the front and block feet in the rear. As warm and attractive as it is functional, having the ideal size and proportions for a variety of different uses, including as a bedroom commode - dresser, dining sideboard server - buffet table, credenza, oversized hall console, entry statement piece, and more. Wherever it's placed, it's sure to add a touch of refined elegant warmth and classic sophistication to any space! Dimensions: (approx) 39.5" High, 46" Wide, 21" Deep. Great original antique condition. Presents well, with beautifully aged warm patina. Retaining original antique character and charm. Wear consistent with age and use.
