Antique French Wrought Iron Torchere Candelabra, circa 1900
Located in Dallas, TX
Candle-burning torcheres were used for centuries before modern technology gave rise to new methods of lighting. This French wrought iron candelabra torchere from the turn of the century (circa 1900) was wired to provide electrical illumination (although the wiring has since been removed).
Seven large, saucer bobeches with cylindrical capitals have been arranged in a four tier light display. Each bobeche sits on an “L”-shaped arm that is affixed to a triangular frame surrounding a series of scrolls resembling a bouquet water fountain spray. The entire display sits on top of a twisted shaft adorned with a square knop in the middle. Beneath the column is a tripartite base with stepped legs. The iron has traces of oxidation, giving the black finish an orange-brown patina. Our wrought iron torchere candelabra...

Pair of 17th Century Light Walnut Wood Candlesticks from France
Located in Dallas, TX
These tall, light walnut wood candlesticks date to the mid to late 1600s. They were likely commissioned as altar candlesticks for a French chapel. The motifs are from the period including stylized shells, acanthus leaves, C-and S-Scrolls, and various leaves, and more. The very top platform has two cutaways defining flowers and scrolls. Absolutely beautiful on a large table or the floor, these impressive 5 foot tall 17th...
