Included in this stunning collection is an extremely rare purple chalcedony, not seen in many years, found 30 hours down the Pangolaines river system, from Nosy Varika, Lemur Island, Madagascar.

The Wind of Night, is a unique black glass stylized tree sculpture by the Lithuanian artist Remigijus Kriukas. Glass is blown and hot sculpted to create this substantial artwork, which is both striking and statuesque.
In 1985 Remigijus Kriukas graduated from Lithuanian State Institute of Fine Arts, specializing in glass and started designing at JSC “Panevežio stiklas”, which he did so from 1993-2000. In 2000 he founded his own glass studio in Panevežys where he now creates all his artworks.
Kriukas has exhibited extensively around Europe, Russia and the USA. He has taken part in many creative symposiums in various locations, including Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Estonia, Ukraine, Czechia, Hungary, Germany, Slovakia. he Glossopteris plate is excellent fossil preservation of the archetypical ‘sage’ shaped leaf embedded within the once soft matrix, creating a definitive display of leaves, and the reverse of this plate has a similarly beautiful display of Glossopteris Leaves exhibiting a lovely palette of colour.
Plants are multicellular, photosynthetic eucaryotes. The oldest known land plant body fossils are Silurian in age. Fossil root traces of land plants are known back to the Ordovician era.
