Sasha Bezzubov’s photographic approach has developed through diverse series that address the contemporary condition and explore the nature of the document. Sasha Bezzubov uses a large format camera to photograph the people and the land in diverse series including, The Gringo Project, Expats and Natives, Things Fall Apart, The Searchers, Albedo Zone, Facts on the Ground and most recently, Republic of Dust.
Bezzubov is a two-time recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship Award. His work has been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions including International Biennial of Photography and Visual Arts (Liege, Belgium); Tucson Museum of Art; Museum Belvedere (The Netherlands); Herter Art Gallery (University of Massachusetts); Wavehill (New York); New Orleans Museum of Art; and Noorderlicht Photography Festival (The Netherlands). In 2009 Nazraelli Press published Bezzubov’s monograph Wildfire (introduction by Bill McKibben). In 2011 Daniel Cooney Fine Arts published Facts on the Ground (introduction by Lucy Lippard) to accompany the exhibition. His work is in permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of the City of New York, and the Joy of Giving Something Foundation. Bezzubov’s work has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Harper’s, The Telegraph Magazine, Esquire, Newsweek, Time, Art & Auction, and Details; and has received critical acclaim in The New Yorker, Freeze, The Village Voice, The Brooklyn Rail and Print. Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, straddling the border of California and Nevada. It’s known for its beaches and ski resorts. On the southwest shore, Emerald Bay State Park contains the 1929 Nordic-style mansion Vikingsholm. Along the lake’s northeast side, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park includes Sand Harbor Beach and Spooner Lake, a gateway to the long-distance Tahoe Rim Trail.

Slim Aarons photographed the Carlton Hotel, in Cannes, in 1958. The hotel was built in 1911, located at 58 La Croisette in Cannes on the French Riviera. It was designed by architects Charles Dalmas and Marcellin Mayère and built for Henry Ruhl, a Swiss hotelier. It is famous for hosting movie stars from around the world during the annual Film Festival. Famously, the hotel was a central location for the Alfred Hitchcock film To Catch a Thief starring Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. In 1970 it featured in the Peter Sellers/Goldie Hawn comedy There's a Girl in My Soup and exterior scenes were filmed at the entrance to the hotel and on the hotel beach. The hotel lobby scene and interior scenes were done on a film set. While staying at the Hotel Carlton during the 1955 Cannes Film Festival, Academy Award winning movie star Grace Kelly had an arranged meeting and photo shoot with Prince Rainier III of Monaco; they married in 1956.
In the summer of 1983 the hotel and its private beach featured prominently in the music video for the Elton John song I'm Still Standing. (The video also appears in the 2019 film Rocketman.) During the shooting of the video the Carlton was the scene of a drunken party involving John and the band Duran Duran that has since become something of a legend at the hotel. Significant damages to the rooms in John's suite resulted.[2] Both exterior and interior shots appear in New Order's 1993 music video for the single, "World (The Price of Love)", and exterior shots of the front of the hotel and the jetty leading out of the beach appear in Steps´ 1999 music video for their single "Love's Got a Hold on My Heart".

Using photography as the starting point, Viviana Zargón constructs a pictorial universe of industrial imagination. In an exploration of abandoned empty spaces, Zargón portrays an exhaustion of hope as she incorporates traces of manufacturing artifacts from the Industrial era. Through the medium of photography and painting, Zargón creates a semantic configuration of reality as she reflects on the relationship between production, work, and social progress to greater understand the present.
Vivana Zargon was born in Buenos Aires in 1958. Tour la Reine is a former royal estate near Athens, Greece. The estate, consisting of 200 hectares (494 acres), was purchased by King Otto, the first king of modern Greece. He built there a small neogothic castle for his wife, Queen Amalia. The architecture resembles Hohenschwangau castle in Bavaria, built for Maximilian II of Bavaria, the brother of King Otto. As the castle is only one tower, it is called the Queen's Tower. After the abdication of King Otto, the estate was sold to the Serpieri family, who still own it. They have a dairy farm and wineyard on the estate. The wines bottled on the estate are called "Tour la Reine" (French for Queen's Tower).
A nearby station of the Proastiakos suburban railway opened in 2014, Pyrgos Vasilissis, is named after the estate.

Combining the documentary style of my previous climate project, The Witness Tree, with my earlier narrative fictional approach, I photograph paper cutouts (from appropriated online images) of climate-threatened birds. I place the cutouts within the birds’ current habitats so that they look real, but upon inspection, reveal themselves to be photos within photos—the gaze within the gaze upon nature—as actual birds recede into marginal zones of survival.
The images are meant to disrupt the casual gaze, disarming the expectations of nature photography, leaving viewers disturbed and curious.
Divergence of Birds (2017-current)
A large-scale, long-term, multimedia conceptual project about the threat of species extinction on birds in North America .
My current climate project, Divergence of Birds, takes inspiration from two texts: The Audubon Society’s “Birds and Climate Change Report” which projects that, by 2080, climate change will affect the range of habitat of over half of North American birds; and Phillip K. Dick’s 1968 novel, “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” where electric versions of once-commonplace animals are so realistic that they fool even veterinarians. Divergence of Birds addresses the prospect that, one day, only simulacra of climate-impacted animals will be left.
Combining the documentary style of my previous climate project, The Witness Tree, with my earlier narrative fictional approach, I’m photographing paper cutouts (from appropriated online photos) of the nearly 400 climate-threatened birds. I place the cutouts within the birds’ current habitats so that they look real, but upon inspection, reveal themselves to be photos within photos—the gaze within the gaze upon nature—as actual birds recede into marginal zones of survival.
The images disrupt the casual gaze, disarming expectations of nature photography leaving viewers disturbed and questioning. Audiences will then be invited, through interactive workshops, to participate in climate activism.
The full project when completed will include over 400 photos representing the climate-threatened birds, video, soundscape, "memento mori" images in vintage photo cases...

Combining the documentary style of my previous climate project, The Witness Tree, with my earlier narrative fictional approach, I photograph paper cutouts (from appropriated online images) of climate-threatened birds. I place the cutouts within the birds’ current habitats so that they look real, but upon inspection, reveal themselves to be photos within photos—the gaze within the gaze upon nature—as actual birds recede into marginal zones of survival.
The images are meant to disrupt the casual gaze, disarming the expectations of nature photography, leaving viewers disturbed and curious.
Divergence of Birds (2017-current)
A large-scale, long-term, multimedia conceptual project about the threat of species extinction on birds in North America .
My current climate project, Divergence of Birds, takes inspiration from two texts: The Audubon Society’s “Birds and Climate Change Report” which projects that, by 2080, climate change will affect the range of habitat of over half of North American birds; and Phillip K. Dick’s 1968 novel, “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” where electric versions of once-commonplace animals are so realistic that they fool even veterinarians. Divergence of Birds addresses the prospect that, one day, only simulacra of climate-impacted animals will be left.

Luca Campigotto uses big equipment to capture big subjects, from the absolute vibrant density of 5POINTZ at night, to the eerie stillness of the stone statues on Easter Island, to sweeping cityscapes of Manhattan and Chicago skylines. His photographic expeditions have taken him to disparate and exotic locations around the world – Japan, India, Thailand, Cambodia in the Far East; many European and North American cities; as well as Cairo, Lapland, Argentina, and Easter Island.
Campigotto uses both large-format and digital cameras for his projects. His cityscapes feature blurred lines of traffic recorded over long exposures, in bustling settings like Times Square, and yet a stillness pervades his work, a sense of vulnerability. Some of his 5POINTZ images were captured just days before the buildings were white-washed; his Argentine glacier is retreating; the Easter Island statues stand testament to lost civilizations.
