"23 V: Countercurrent, " Large Contemporary Oil Painting on Canvas by Renée Rey
Located in New York, NY
In her mixed-media artwork "23 V Countercurrent," Rey explores narratives connecting nature, technology and sustainability. Fusing a Postmodern oeuvre of abstraction and surrealism, with a nod to Tiepolo, Constable and Dali, the artist ignites saturated stems of red, pink, and green pigments in a world where color and form flow in and out of multi-perspectives. Springing forth through space is symbolic iconography. Sea life including fish, manatee and coral swim through currents of air, water and land as the artist examines the dynamic link between them. Engineered towers protect vital H2O for human sustenance while elements of the periodic table depict the equality of all that exists on earth and beyond. Renée Rey...

Wonderful Late 19th-Early 20th Berlin K.P.M. Porcelain Rectangular Plaque
By KPM Porcelain
Located in Long Island City, NY
A wonderful late 19th-early 20th Berlin K.P.M. porcelain rectangular plaque Painted landscape scene with two women and their children playing, the background with two men, one playing an instrument. Impressed K.P.M and scepter marks, in the original frame. KPM is an acronym for Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, which translates to “Royal Porcelain Factory in Berlin.” The company was founded in 1763 by Frederick II of Prussia, who bought the factory from its previous owner, Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky, in the wake of its bankruptcy. Frederick II greatly admired the factory’s “white gold,” a type of porcelain so fine and translucent that it closely mirrored the high-quality porcelain made in China. He invested large sums of money into the company and granted it the use of the royal scepter...

Painting, Oil, 'Street Scene' Signed Bela Kadar
By Bela Kadar
Located in New York, NY
Painting, Street Scene, Signed Bela Kadar, (Hungary 1877-1955), un-framed, oil on board. Bela Kadar was born in Hungary in 1877. Amongst his early interests was mural painting. Like many of the artists of his day he was drawn to Paris and Berlin, and by 1910 he had visited both cities twice. In 1923, Kadar showed his paintings in Berlin at the invitation of Herwath Walden. Walden was an important figure in the German avant-garde, being the publisher of the journal Der Sturm which featured the works of Franz Marc, Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, Marc Chagall and Oskar Kokoschka. During the group exhibition at Walden's gallery with other artist's of Der Sturm, Kadar met Katherine Dreier whose Societe Anonyme was instrumental in bringing the work of the European avant-garde to New York. With her help two major exhibitions of his work were planned for the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the second of which in September 1928 Kadar travelled from Europe to attend. Bela Kadar incorporated themes of Hungarian...
