Beautifully and subtly glazed in tones of grey, green, pink and tan, this stunning Art Deco sculptural rondel depicts Bellerophon, a nude male figure from Greek mythology, restraining a winged Pegasus in a lush springtime landscape. This piece is a rare example of the work of Mario Brunetti, who was part of a circle of sculptors and ceramicists influenced by the enormously successful Lenci workshop in Turin (Torino).
