William Sweetlove, born in Ostend, Belgium, in 1949, unites dadaism with surrealism and pop art in humoristic sculptures that at first sight may seem “kitschy”. However, closer familiarity with his works reveals their role as a creative antidote to the overproduction and overconsumption of our society. With his cloned animals William Sweetlove calls for greater ecological awareness and urges us to reflect on the consequences of the climate change challengeing humanity. His cloned dogs wear boots since the sea level rises and the penguins carry water bottles since we are runnig out of drinking water. William Sweetlove has had exhibitions at art fairs, galleries and museums all over the world. His works are found in several private art collections. A Winter Landscape by Swedish Artist Rikard Lindström
Located in Stockholm, SE
Depicting a winter wonderland, this piece mesmerizes the viewer with its turquoise sky - a bold and unique choice that draws the eyes upwards. But the narrative is more profound. Set against this sky is a distant, rugged stone hill, standing as a testament to the timeless beauty of nature. A few trees benethe the hill, gracefully blanketed with snow. The snow itself is no ordinary white, but a mix of pink and blue shimmers, giving the piece a more interesting quality.
More intriguing are the tracks left in the snow. Whose might they be? An animal, perhaps? Or did the artist himself tread this frozen landscape, leaving behind a subtle signature? Such is the mystery of Lindström's work.
Rikard Magnus Lindström (1882-1943) was not just a painter but a storyteller, deeply rooted in his Swedish heritage. He's best known for his paintings of archipelago scenes, where the tranquil and tempestuous moods of the sea often play central characters. Born in Stockholm, Lindström's journey into the art world began at the Konstakademien in Stockholm, and his passion took him to Copenhagen and Paris. Throughout his life, Lindström's restless spirit saw him wander, capturing the diverse landscapes of Stockholm's archipelago, Västkusten, Åland, and notably, Lofoten. His affinity for portraying the vast expanse of the sea, often with sailing vessels in the backdrop, is legendary.
Lindström's colors were described as "powerful yet harmonious," and this piece is no exception. The juxtaposition of the turquoise sky with the shimmering snow showcases his masterful play with colors.
A member of the younger generation of the Konstnärsförbundet, Lindström was greatly influenced by the older members, particularly by Karl Nordström's national-romantic paintings. Besides painting, Lindström had a flair for writing and was a popular contributor to Dagens Nyheter, often penning articles and notes in Morgonbris.
However, beneath the vivacious, nature-loving exterior was a man of depth and complexity, as his ex-wife, Martha Rydell-Lindström, has depicted in her book. He was a lover of life, but his nature held layers of vulnerability and tenderness.
Today, this winter landscape stands as a tribute not just to Lindström's artistic genius but to the very essence of the man himself. Embrace the opportunity to own a piece of Swedish art history, painted by an artist whose legacy continues to inspire.

Jeff Koons is an American pop artist, born in York, Pennsylvania in 1955 to a mother who was a seamstress and a father who worked as an interior decorator. He is known for working with popular culture subjects and for his reproductions of banal objects. His works have sold for important amounts, including one world record auction price for a work by a living artist. Jeff Koons had an early interest in art and as a teenager he admired Salvador Dalí. He studied painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As a student he met the artist Ed Paschke who became a major influence and for whom he worked as a studio assistant in the late 1970’s.
In 1977 Jeff Koons moved to New York City where he worked at the Museum of Modern Art whilst establishing himself as an artist. In the 1980’s he began working as a Wall Street commodities broker in order to finance his art projects. He wanted to be independent from the art market and has expressed that: ”I could make exactly what art I wanted to make. And I would always know that I didn’t need the art market.”
In the mid-1980’s Jeff Koons gained prominence and recognition as part of a generation of artists who explored the meaning af art in a media-saturated era. He set up a factory-like studio in a SoHo loft with over 30 assistants.
Since his first solo exhibition in 1980 Jeff Koon’s work has been shown in major galleries and institutions throughout the world. His work was the subject of a major exhibition organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art, Jeff Koons: A Retrospective in 2014, which traveled to the Centre Pompidou Paris and then further to Guggenheim Bilbao in 2015. His most recent series, Gazing Ball Paintings, was exhibited for the first time at Gagosian Gallery, New York in 2015.
The artist has earned renown for his public sculptures, such as the monumental...

Ant Battle Oil Sketch by Eugen Kask, Oil on Panel, Signed, 1978
Located in Stockholm, SE
The painting in question captures the dynamic energy of a moment seemingly frozen in time—an oil sketch by Eugen Kask featuring two ants engaged in an intense wrestling match. Kask’s approach to this piece is fluid and spontaneous, with broad, swift strokes that lend an air of immediacy to the scene. Much of the canvas remains untouched, its raw state highlighting the areas where Kask chose to concentrate his efforts, thus drawing the viewer's gaze directly to the central action of the ants. This decision to leave the background undefined gives the work a sense of incompleteness, a characteristic that is often celebrated in studies and sketches for its authenticity and connection to the artist's initial spark of inspiration.
Eugen Kask, born on January 18, 1918, in Kiev and passed away on May 11, 1998, in Vimmerby, was an Estonian-Swedish painter of diverse talents. A descendant of an architectural lineage, with his father Kristjan Kask and his own background in architecture and fine arts, Kask brought a structural eye to his compositions. His life, marked by the upheaval of wartime displacement, led him to Sweden where his contributions to art continued to flourish through exhibitions and group showcases. His work spans a variety of subjects from pastoral landscapes to intimate animal studies...

Pointillist - Scandinavian Winter Landscape, 1907 by Arthur Percy
Located in Stockholm, SE
Introducing "Scandinavian Winter Landscape, 1907" a mesmerizing painting by the artist Arthur Percy Carlsson, later known as Arthur C:son Percy (1886-1976). Born in Vickleby, Öland, Percy's artistic journey was one defined by unwavering determination and exceptional talent.
This landscape painting presents a winter landscape, likely set during the early spring season. The canvas portrays a vast, snow-filled meadow, blanketed in pristine white. Above, the sky comes alive in a captivating pointillist style, with hues of blue, turquoise, and yellow forming delicate, scattered dots, while small clouds grace the horizon.
The scene unfolds with an enchanting backdrop of a distant forest, its trees adorned with a touch of winter's charm. Between the enchanting forest and the expansive meadow, a few humble houses...

View Over Lake Mangen, c. 1925 (Racken Group)
Located in Stockholm, SE
Essay:
We are pleased to present a magnificent painting by the talented Swedish artist, Alfred Ekstam (1878-1935). This breathtaking landscape features a view over a lake, believed to be Lake Mangen, near Ekstam's hometown. In the foreground, a lush green field extends to the lake, which shimmers in hues of purple, blue, and white, reminiscent of Claude Monet's impressionistic technique of painting water. It is a sight to behold. The sky, filled with clouds, is also mirrored in the water, adding depth and dimension to the scene. In the distance, green mountains loom, completing this picturesque vista.
Alfred Ekstam was born in Mangskog in 1878, originally with the surname Johansson. He began his career as a painter's apprentice to a local master painter. After a few years, he moved to Stockholm to attend the Technical School, where his ambition to become an artist was ignited. However, finding it difficult to make a living as an artist, he returned to Värmland. Ekstam was a skilled craftsman and was discovered by Elis Eriksson at the Eriksson brothers' furniture workshop, where he was employed as a decorative painter. He also came into contact with notable artists such as Gustaf Fjæstad, Fritz Lindström, and Bror Lindh...

Jacob Ochtervelt (Workshop)
The Grape Seller
oil on canvas
unframed: 80.7 x 61 cm.; 31 ¾ x 24 in.
framed: 109.5 x 89 cm.; 43 1/8 x 35 in.
Essay:
This captivating piece, originating from the studio of the revered Dutch artist Jacob Ochtervelt, mirrors the composition of a signed and dated 1669 canvas by Ochtervelt that is presently housed in the Hermitage museum. Its subject, "The Grape Seller" immerses us in a typical 17th-century interior, replete with characters from various strata of society.
At the center, a fruit vendor is depicted bending over to weigh grapes for the buyer. A child hands some of the grapes to her mother to taste, their attentive maid standing by. The backdrop showcases typical Ochtervelt details: a hint of the city visible through the doorway, light filtering in through an overhead window, and a playful dog at their side.
The exquisite quality of the piece is evident in the minutiae, such as the intricate detailing of the mother's earring, which in reality spans only a few millimeters yet boasts impressive attention to detail. Initially, Sotheby's considered this work to be an autograph piece by Ochtervelt. But due to some uncertainty, it was auctioned as Workshop of Jacob Ochtervelt. On the other hand, the esteemed Cabinet Turquin in Paris leans toward attributing the piece directly to Jacob Ochtervelt himself.
The painting is framed in an authentic period frame, which has been delicately restored by Stockholm's Förgyllning och Bildhuggeri. The frame retains its age-old patina and, while in used condition, has minor imperfections adding to its charm.
Another interesting thing worth to mention is the painting's provenance. It was once owned by the 1st Viscount Rothermere (1868-1940), the founder of the Daily Mail and Daily Mirror...

Essay:
We are pleased to present a striking pastel by the Danish artist, Frants Henningsen (1850-1908), titled "A Summer's Day on Hornbæk Beach" dated 1886. The scene is from Hornbæk Beach in Denmark, featuring a beach with some pooled water, a few green grass plants, followed by the sea with sailboats, and land visible on the horizon. The water reflection in the puddle on the beach and in the sea is exceptionally beautiful, reflecting the sky, which has a few clouds. This is a motif that the artist revisited several times during the 1880s, including a larger oil painting executed in 1884, sold at Christie's in 2021, and another one from 1883 in the museum collection: The Hirschsprung Collection, Copenhagen. Our pastel is undoubtedly the brightest of those we could find; it is strikingly beautiful and in exceptionally good condition. The artwork comes in a beautiful handmade oak gold frame by Stockholms Bildhuggeri.
About Frants Henningsen:
Frants Peter Diderik Henningsen was a Danish painter, illustrator, and professor. His paintings often depict unfortunate occurrences in the lives of middle-class people living in Copenhagen during challenging times. Although connected with Denmark's more traditional realist school, he faced criticism from some of his more reactionary contemporaries, especially Karl Madsen, who objected to his appointment as a professor at the Academy in 1887. Erik Henningsen, also an artist, was his younger brother.
Henningsen graduated from Borgerdyd School in Christianshavn, attended C.V. Nielsen's drawing school, and then completed his studies at the Danish Academy in 1875. He studied at Léon Bonnat's school in Paris from 1877 to 1878 and traveled to Spain with Peder Severin Krøyer, Frans Schwartz...
