Glazed Ceramic Light Sculpture by Birthe Aksby, Denmark, 1970s
Located in Benalmadena, ES
Expressive light sculpture by Danish ceramicist Birthe Aksby, crafted in glazed ceramic with organic designs inspired by plant forms and marine corals. The composition evokes natural growth, with volumes emerging from a textured and perforated structure, allowing light to flow through its openings and create an atmospheric play of shadows. The pale glazed patina enhances its sculptural presence, lending it an ethereal character and an almost mineral quality.
Birthe Aksby, active in Denmark during the second half of the 20th century, is renowned for her mastery of fine ceramics and her exploration of nature-inspired forms. Alongside this remarkable piece, a newspaper clipping was found mentioning her work exhibited at Galerie Gammel Strand in Copenhagen, alongside ceramicist Lizzie Thyssen...

Ken Edwards Set of 4 Vintage Sun Face Coasters Tonala Mexico Art Pottery, Set 2

Located in Clifton Springs, NY
Set of 4 vintage coasters is hand painted with Sun Face decor; each face is unique, with its own expression. Minimal color palette enhances the subtle variations between the pieces. Mid-Century Modern West German Holy Water Vessels, Laach, Ulmer, Set of 9
By Ulmer Keramik, Theodor Bogler
Located in AMSTERDAM, NL
This Mid-Century Modern West German Holy Water Vessels Set (9 pieces) offers a striking blend of design, craftsmanship, and symbolism, making it highly appealing to collectors and enthusiasts. Crafted between the late 1940's and 1960s, these vessels were designed for use in churches, holding holy water or wine. However, their sleek forms and elegant, muted tones have earned them admiration far beyond their original ecclesiastical function, making them prized items for both religious and design collectors.
The vessels showcase a variety of beautiful glaze colors and finishes and embody the Mid-Century Modern design ethos with clean lines and simple forms. All the vessels feature unique shapes reflecting the era’s focus on balancing function with form. The interplay of color and texture—from glossy to matte—adds a striking visual dimension to the collection, making each piece stand out on its own and as part of a set.
Among the nine pieces, two vessels are marked by Laach Abbey, where Theodor Bogler...

Authentic Talavera Decorative Plate Folk Art Vessel Mexican Ceramic Blue White
By Cesar
Located in Queretaro, Queretaro
Elegant white and blue plate made with the Talavera technique. Artist, Cesar Torres portraits the colonial art of Mexico.
The Talavera is not just a simple painted ceramic: its exquisite decoration is the product of a delicate process of alchemy that translates into fine enamels. In Puebla, Mexico few people still produce using Talavera with the ancestral techniques.
One of those few is Cesar Torres, Don Cesar learned his art in the workshop of the Uriarte family, an excellent workshop where his grandfather worked. In his creations he uses the black and white mud that is obtained from the nearby hills of Loreto and Guadalupe, and colors of mineral origin that he creates in his workshop with recipes from his grandfather.
All the pieces are modeled in a traditional way and go through a production process that usually takes from one to two months, between drying, burning, and painting.
Being surrounded by a living tradition, Cesar Torres Jr., learned from his father since childhood. Architect by profession, Cesar Jr. has come to revolutionize and modernize with new designs and ideas of the current world, nevertheless always respecting the tradition of the processes and materials that make Talavera a Creole art...
