A 22 karat ring with the abstract profile of the Greek goddess, Circe, by the famous French artist, Georges Braque. In the last years of his life from 1961-1963, Georges Braque turned to designing jewelry. This ring in textured gold with the female profile in bas relief is an example from that period. It is signed, "Bijoux de Braque", which is the name Braque gave to his jewels, along with the numbers 28 LP 2901. Also on the ring are the initials H.L. for Heger de Loewenfeld, who executed Braque's designs in gold. The size is approximately 5 1/2; the weight 8.7 dwt.
