One of the world's most exclusive and popular playgrounds, Capri, Italy, is renowned for it's natural beauty, resplendent with flowering plants and trees intermingled with fruit trees and lush greenery, swaying in the island winds, overlooking the turquoise seas with rock formations that reach for the sky. Internationally sought after artist Sonia Grineva has been featured in numerous shows in Capri as well as having been featured in "Capri" Magazine; she maintains a studio in both Sicily and New York City. Grineva captures the foliage, fruit, sounds and smells and motions of summertime in this exciting original abstract expressionist oil painting. The cool and crisp values of the colors are paired with classic impasto to create an active dynamic. True to her classic training, trending artist Sonia Grineva combines artistic techniques and styles to best reflect her subject matter. In it's custom frame, this original oil painting measures 50x38. Grineva's early studies were at the Stroganov Institute, where she earned both a bachelors degree and masters of fine art. Her subsequent studies at the National Academy of Design in NYC earned her extensive accolades including a scholarship to continue her studies in Florence, Italy, at the British Institute.
