About the Item

Inscribed verso "Dora Masters" and painted circa 1960. A large, Post-Impressionist figural oil of a young woman shown facing the viewer with her gaze averted and surrounded and overlapped by organically-derived, polychrome pendant ovals in shades of slate-blue, turquoise, magenta and lavender. Dora Masters exhibited widely and with success throughout the 1950s and '60s, including at the San Francisco Art Association and the Carmel Art Association.
