Over the course of a career lasting half a century, Slim Aarons (1916-2006) portrayed high society, aristocracy, authors, artists, business icons, the celebrated and their milieu. In doing so, he captured a golden age of wealth, privilege, beauty and leisure that occurred alongside—but quite separate from—the cultural and political backdrop of the second half of the Twentieth Century.

A stone's throw from the Villa Malaparte from Jean-Luc Godard's movie Contempt, the Faraglioni cliffs plunging into the turquoise of the Tyrrhenian Sea, and the colorful houses that climb the bay. Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, straddling the border of California and Nevada. It’s known for its beaches and ski resorts. On the southwest shore, Emerald Bay State Park contains the 1929 Nordic-style mansion Vikingsholm. Along the lake’s northeast side, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park includes Sand Harbor Beach and Spooner Lake, a gateway to the long-distance Tahoe Rim Trail.

"Yosemite Falls" is a black and white photograph signed by Thomas Ferderbar. This view of the waterfall is from the side, not a center view. One can see how far the water falls down and where it creates mist as well. An evergreen tree balances the piece. Archival inkjet print on archival Epson Premium Luster paper. Camera that was used was an 8x10 Ansco View with a Goerz lens. And was scanned in the early 2000's with a drum scanner prior to achivally digitally printed. Signed by artist in lower left corner.
