Green-Winged Macaws are monogamous and pair for life. They mate once in a lifetime, remaining and travelling together even out of the breeding season. Their beaks are powerful, allowing them to easily crack hard shelled nuts like the Brazil nut. The beak of the Green-Winged macaw can generate a pressure of 2000 pounds per square inch.
Animal photography is about being ready for the split-second moment when it happens. This takes a certain amount of production. The studio set-up, the lighting and the camera settings can all be planned but the magic moment is seldom planned. It just happens naturally and you need to be prepared. Whether you capture it will depend on patience, concentration and reflex.

Tim Platt specialises in creating minimal stylised studio portraits of birds and animals, which he describes as beauty shots. A frozen moment in time allows us to observe the world in suspension and will often reveal a graphic beauty that might otherwise flash by in the blink of an eye and remain unnoticed.
Whether observing the magnified eye of a bullfrog, or an eagle captured at several thousandths of a second in mid-flight, he is fascinated by the level of detail that can be revealed in a large format print. It is the stillness of a photograph that gives us time to pause and marvel at the myriad levels of detail in Nature’s grand design and allows us to reflect on the wonderful diversity of life on Earth.

The bird has white skin, with it’s face having nearly no feathers apart from a few black ones spaced apart from each other forming a striking striped patterns around the eyes. Other distinct details are a black ‘chin strap’ and lime-green feathers on the forehead.

The studio set-up, the lighting and the camera settings can all be planned but the magic moment is seldom planned. It just happens naturally and you need to be prepared. "I was at my printer's studio working on a body of photographs when we were interrupted by a customer who needed his attention for a few minutes. I agreed on a pause so that that customer could be accommodated, and my printer suggested I roam the garden, as there was a lot to see there. Just before the exit to the garden was a room crammed with pastel knick-knacks. A glass sliding door stood closed between me and this room, which seemed to be a combination of very special private space and a storage room. I immediately had the sense that I was seeing a photograph waiting to be taken and, as I had my Sony Rx100m7 camera around my neck, I ran back to my printer and asked if I could go into the room. Vladimir Clavijo-Telepnev was born in 1962 in Moscow, in the family of creative people. His father, Pedro Clavijo, was a Columbian journalist and a radio reporter. His grandfather by his father's side, Edmundo Clavijo Cubilios, was a famous Columbia's photograph and artist. His grandfather and grandmother by his mother's side, Vladimir and Margarita Telepnevs, were painters.
In 1986 Vladimir graduated from the Moscow Polygraphic Academy, faculty of graphic art, specializing in painting, graphics, and polygraphic design.

The series is based on the idea to look at the famous literary work from an unorthodox perspective and show the content with the help of visual images. In Vladimir’s view the asexuality of the characters allows, within the given photographic project, to use a “transvestitism approach” with females portraying males. The task was to use a natural female refinement of the heroines.
Chronologically-wise the Chekhov’s characters find themselves in the 1920’s and the 1930’s when the very notion “style” was most graphic and fitting.
The retro-styling approach used in the series makes the photos both expressive and melancholic at the same time. With all his inherent theatricality and nostalgia the artist puts his post-modernistic compositions in the atmospheres of the years past reproducing long-gone motifs. He shows reality against the background of a “theatrical universe”. Grace Glueck, a prominent art critic for the New York Times newspaper, wrote that Vladimir Clavijo-Telepnyov’s large-scale photos look intriguing and, among other things, the photos have something really theatrical about them as if inspired by the system initiated by the Russian theatrical director of the early 20th century Konstantin Stanislavsky.
In a subject called Temptation, the rather spoilt servant Yasha in the role of a tempter portrays a so-called new Russian. The character is expressive and cynical; he is aloof, kind of cheeky and self-satisfied individual quick to elbow old-timers.
A tragic theme of old age, helplessness and eventual death of a servant named Firse is solved in the form of diptych with a little girl sitting alone in the corner of a huge empty room.
The image of land-owning lady Ranevskaya was quite logically portrayed by Renata Litvinova, an actress, script-writer and film director who had played the same role in the Moscow Art Theater...

Green-Winged Macaws are monogamous and pair for life. They mate once in a lifetime, remaining and travelling together even out of the breeding season. Their beaks are powerful, allowing them to easily crack hard shelled nuts like the Brazil nut. The beak of the Green-Winged macaw can generate a pressure of 2000 pounds per square inch.

Tim Platt specialises in creating minimal stylised studio portraits of birds and animals, which he describes as beauty shots. The Green-Winged Macaw can be mistaken for a Scarlet Macaw as from the front it is almost entirely red. It is distinguished by a greenish band of feathers below the shoulders and wings. The green band transitions to dark blue on the wings, and there is light blue on the rump and on the tail feathers.
