Antoon Vermeylen (1931-2012) Painter and graphic artist. He was educated at the drawing academy in Berghem and at the Vocational School for Arts and Crafts in Antwerp, after which he attended the Academy of Fine Arts and the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Antwerp. He was involved in the Higher Institute for Printing of the Plantin Society and he was a teacher at the Municipal Academy of Plastic Art in Merksem and the Technicum in Antwerp.Vermeylen produced dozens of prints, book illustrations and other small prints.
