Giuseppe Palumbo’s whimsical, anthropomorphic sculptures delve into the human psyche through irony, wit, and humor. By applying classical techniques to his contemporary subjects, Palumbo’s textured and spirited bronzes embody the essence of each being he portrays. The surprising humanization of common animals urges the viewer to identify with the creatures and forge surprisingly intense emotional connection with the artwork, shattering not only the barriers between viewer and artwork, but between human and beast.
In addition to Palumbo’s renowned collection of animals, Palumbo pushes the boundaries of the human experience even further with his exploration of shapes and objects. From small people...

Untitled (Roi David)
By Marc Chagall
Located in Palo Alto, CA
Marc Chagall Untitled (Roi David), 1954 is a rare and imaginative culmination of the collaboration between Marc Chagall and the Fucina degli Angeli. This work is from the beginning of Chagall’s usage of Murano glass as a means of expression. In 1954, Chagall was invited into the Fucina degli Angeli by Egidio Costantini who was the master glass blower at the time. This stunning and mesmeric sculpture beckons the eyes through the use of vivid, bold colors that blend seamlessly together. Blue, purple, teal and hints of red coalesce in the center of the glass plate, creating the backdrop for a whimsical scene placed in the foreground. A man in a crown kneels in the center of the work, preoccupied with the string instrument delicately constructed in his hands. Gilded flecks of gold are highlighted around the crown and instrument, showing us the depth of the lyrical poet. The transparent glass allows us to follow suite of the man, becoming entranced and lost in thought.
Created in 1954 in the Fucina degli Angeli in Venice, Italy, this Murano glass sculpture was realized by master glass artist Egidio Costantini (Brindisi, 1912- Venice, 1998) in collaboration Marc Chagall, (Vitebsk, 1887 – Saint-Paul, 1985). This work is inscribed ‘M. Chagall E. Costantini 1954 © Fucina degli Angeli’ on verso and is an artist proof.

"Sleeping Swan" ceramic sculpture with lace, hand sculpted flowers and swan
Located in New York, NY
This wall-mounted sculptural installation is created with hand-built ceramic and glazes, presented on a shelf with vintage lace. The artist has incorporated pressed lace, ceramic flowers in dark pink which are mounted to a wall panel hung on the wall above the hand sculpted glazed ceramic figure of a sleeping swan. A contemporary sculptural tableau of a a swan with flowers floating above. This ceramic sculpture is featured in a solo exhibition of new works by Sascha Mallon, entitled, "Mending Dreams.
Front Room Gallery is pleased to present, “Mending Dreams” a solo exhibition of new sculptural works by Sascha Mallon. “Mending Dreams” includes hand-build ceramics, assemblage sculptures and drawings which capture moments in time, accessed through memories and dreams. The forms and the figures in this exhibition relate to the artist’s Austrian heritage; she creates images of animals, people, and nature that reference allegories, myths, and stories, re-contextualized in contemporary life. She is particularly interested in expressing inner thoughts and feelings and how those relate to reality. Sascha Mallon’s work encourages viewers to slow down and to notice the beauty and wonder of the world around us.
“Mountains are a recurring theme in my work. They are a metaphor for the body and also allude to my Austrian heritage. They refer to the border between inside and outside and represent stability and home. My mountain sculptures are formed out of broken pieces of glass and ceramics. This work started when I broke one of my favorite cups. The mountain represents the idea that when we face difficulties and challenges in life there are two possibilities: either we accept it and learn something, get stronger, and grow, or part of ourselves breaks and we carry the weight of the loss with us. The mountain is also a metaphor for the fact that many different pieces forming a whole are stronger than the individual parts.” -Sascha Mallon
Another recurring subject in Sascha Mallon’s work is a series of figures in a position of waiting, sleeping, or dreaming. For example, her ceramic sculptures of female...

Paseo, from Service Scènes de Corrida, A.R. 416
Located in Palo Alto, CA
Created in 1959, Pablo Picasso (Málaga, 1881 – Mougins, 1973) Paseo A.R. 416 is numbered from the edition of 50 on the reverse and stamped with the 'MADOURA PLEIN FEU' and ‘EMPREINTE ORIGINALE DE PICASSO' pottery stamps on the reverse.
Pablo Picasso was an avid fan of bullfighting his entire life, attending his first corridas when he was a child in Spain and gaining a renewed interest in the events when he settled in the South of France after World War II. Undoubtedly the theatrical drama and flashy machismo of the matadors appealed greatly to Picasso's sensibilities and resonated with his Spanish roots. In 1959, Picasso produced an 8-piece plate series, each featuring a different bullfighting scene suggested through lively stipple lines. Paseo A.R. 416 depicts a line of bullfighters highlighted by a streak of yellow. The strokes of blue above and below the figures contrast with the warm of the yellow, creating visual tension that anticipates the drama of the fight.

Cindy Avroch is a multi-talented artist who began her career by following in her mother’s footsteps. Cindy’s first love was always drawing, painting and sculpting, although Cindy is also a trained dancer. While other little girls could be seen carrying Barbie dolls around, Cindy would be juggling a sketchbook, pencils and an eraser in her hands. Among her earlier accomplishments, she received a degree in textile design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, and a scholarship to study at Winchester School of Art in England.
Cindy worked for many years as a studio artist and then an art director in New York City’s fashion industry. Her designs were in major department stores and specialty shops nationwide. Working directly with The Walt Disney Co., Warner Bros., United Media and Nickelodeon, she created licensed print collections for the men’s, women’s and children’s markets. Her unique approach and vision, combined with her philosophy to diversify her modes of expression, enabled her to create and to direct her team to develop fashion collections that tripled sales.
She left the fashion industry to care for her special needs son and found herself a stay- at-home mom for the first time. Soon afterwards, she launched a new venture from home, designing fine art lighting...

Pablo Picasso Visage d’homme (Man’s Head), 1968-1969 A.R. 570 showcases the artist’s unrivaled ability to illustrate human nuance. Each aspect of the man’s face, from his furrowed brow to his side gaze is carefully illustrated. The crowding of horizontal lines on his brow and vertical lines on his nose bring a sense of tension to his face, which compounds the furrowed brow. There are only two colors on the plaque, black and red, but the semi circle of hair atop the mans head...
