The timeworn pastels and subtle neutrals of Swedish antiques distinguish the interiors of many projects by Giannetti Home — but then, so do the fire-engine reds and chrome yellows. It’s all about context for husband-and-wife team Brooke and Steve Giannetti and their multivalent firm, which is equally adept at traditional and modern styles.

For their own Ojai home, they say they “were inspired by both the local vintage Mediterranean homes and farm buildings, as well as our travels in Belgium and France.” The Giannettis selected the antiques both locally and abroad, favoring simple 18th-century French forms and painted finishes.

Architectural elements like the quatrefoil stone inset complement the farm-style beamed ceilings and arched doorways, all painted a radiant chalk white that makes the most of Ojai’s magical light.
