Stalking the wild heart of a very civilized study in Chicago’s landmark Palmolive Building was a joy for designer Sasha Adler. After settling on French blue walls with a piano lacquer finish, the designer went in search of earthy details that would give the room just the right balance — a hallmark of her work.
A unique tortoise lamp from 1stdibs tops a custom desk of brass and cerused oak; a leather desk chair from Soane and a custom oval ottoman share the supple elegance of the African lioness in motion captured in Peter Beard‘s photo. The result is a space that is, in Adler’s words, “collected, sophisticate, layered.”
