Sex and the City superfans have been crying out for Carrie Bradshaw to return to her iconic apartment on New York’s Upper East Side ever since she moved to a Gramercy Park townhouse in And Just Like That…. Turns out the show’s production design team misses her old digs too. “Of course, I feel nostalgia for Carrie’s apartment and all of the experiences that she went through there,” AJLT set decorator Karin Wiesel Holmes informed Elle Decor. The design team also told Elle Decor that the townhouse was designed to feel overwhelming to Carrie, something viewers witnessed during her 1stDibs shopping spiral. That said, another move is unlikely, given the announcement that the series’ current season will be its last.

The design community is mourning John Saladino, the influential interior designer who skillfully blended old-world style with contemporary flair. Saladino regarded his work as fine art, not applied art, as the New York Times relates in his obituary. “If you walk into a room and it does not move you, then the room has failed,” the designer wrote in his 2000 book, Style by Saladino.
On the 75th anniversary of Elsie de Wolfe’s passing, The World of Interiors revisited the Versailles villa the legendary decorator shared with her lover, Bessie Marbury. Marbury and de Wolfe restored the property before World War II, and when hostilities were over, de Wolfe returned to bring it back to life. The images shared by the magazine document the renovated home as it appeared shortly before de Wolfe’s death, in 1950.
A late-19th-century work by French painter Édouard Vuillard sold for $254,000 at auction at Sotheby’s in November 2023 and then in June 2025 — just a year and a half later — raked in a whopping $2.7 million at a sale at Ford Art Auction. “We were not surprised that the Vuillard painting went far above the estimate,” Ford’s sales director, Elizabeth Katz, recently told Artnet News. She said that 21 bidders were vying for the piece, which depicts the artist’s mother. Vuillard collectors take note: His popularity seems to be on the rise.
