Is Pamela Anderson Ushering in a Pillbox-Hat Comeback?

The actress’s chic press-tour look is almost certainly inspired by Jackie O.

With imagery from the sets of Ryan Murphy’s show American Love Story, centered on John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, trickling onto the Internet over the past few weeks, the Kennedys have been top of mind for many lately. Pamela Anderson seems to have had one member of that storied family in particular on her mood board. On the press tour for the 2025 remake of the classic comedy movie The Naked Gun, the actress appeared at a photo call in London in a very Jackie Onassis pillbox hat, as Harper’s Bazaar reports.

Anderson paired her headwear with a black dress with a caped sleeve, black pumps and simple gold hoops — an exceptionally elegant look. The chapeau is in a playful leopard print, much like this vintage Miss Alice hat, available on 1stDibs. Although most closely associated with tweed hats that matched her tweed suits, Jackie O. was partially responsible for a leopard craze that swept the U.S. In 1962, photos of her wearing an Oleg Cassini–designed leopard-skin coat on a trip to India sparked demand for the fur so intense that a decade later leopards landed on the endangered species list, as reported in the New Yorker.

If Anderson’s outfit is any indication, Jackie is still setting style standards decades after her passing. When the results are as chic as the press tour look, we can hardly object.
