At 1stdibs, we subscribe to the mantra that good design makes for good parties. Case in point: the recent cocktail that we co-hosted with Architectural Digest editor-in-chief Margaret Russell to fête the publication of Designing Paradises, a new monograph from esteemed decorator Robert Couturier. Held at Manhattan’s NeueHouse, the party gave Couturier’s fans and clients a first look at the tome’s stunning images of the designer’s work. The luckiest guests left with signed copies — one young man very sweetly requested an inscription for his mother — but everyone was happy to mingle with the great design talent, and absorb the bon mots he tossed off toward the camera crew filming him for an upcoming project. Scroll down to see pics of the party, and for a more in-depth look at Designing Paradises, read a Q-and-A with Couturier in this week’s Introspective.
