Rare French Art Deco Gabriel Fourmaintraux Desvres Pot Turquoise Ceramic Vase
Located in Belfast, Northern Ireland
An astonishing piece from a pottery works run by Gabriel Fourmaintraux in Desvres in the Pas de Calais region of Northern France, after joining his family’s firm in 1905. The artist was trained at Sevres in Art Nouveau Japoniste techniques in ‘grès flamme' (stoneware with variegated flame-like glazes) which influenced Desvres to produce ceramics outside of the firm's usual production. They notably collaborated with painter Fernand Léger. This particular pot has the characteristic mark of the firm - a circular cache often almost illegible, as in this example, reading ‘F D’ within “DESVRES FRANCE’, as well as a series of numbers. The stamp is usually indistinct but is easily recognizable to those familiar with this pottery’s production. An extremely unusual piece of art with fascinating prismatic shape where its profile steps up or down in a striking manner. It has a flowing glaze characteristic of the firm’s Art Nouveau origins, which runs from a pale turquoise to red effects with very delicate metallic and multi-color crystalline luster appearance, but whereas many of their forms are organic and more conventional in origin this one is unusually of an Art Deco shape making it particularly special. A rare collector’s item, or a unique accessory which would fit into both a traditional or contemporary glam decor...

Large Vintage Liberty of London Pink Orange Silk Scarf with Irish Linen Cushion
Located in Belfast, Northern Ireland
Large vintage liberty of London pink and orange silk scarf with Irish linen cushion pillow
This cushion is a one of a kind and part of a sustainability project. It has been created from an up-cycled, recycled luxury fabric, used with the intentions of promoting a more eco-friendly environment by using already existing materials. We both celebrate and cherish the past and take care with rare and precious vintage and antique materials. Through layers of carefully added backing the delicate fabric has been fortified for longevity and thus preserved. (The original designer/brand of the fabric has been fully credited below)
Custom made one of a kind luxury cushion (pillow) created from an exquisite vintage silk Liberty of London fashion scarf in a hot pink paisley pattern, particularly popular in the Victorian era. Paisley print is an iconic design emblematic of the Libertys’ style. Note the early style Liberty logo. It is made from the most luscious, soft silk with a dazzling subtle sheen. Founded by Arthur Liberty, the world famous British department store Liberty of London began trading in 1875 in a small shop called East India House, by the 1920s it was a leading establishment. Liberty was not a designer himself but a businessman who had a gift for recognizing talent and new trends, hiring the top designers of the time. By the 1950s the store had a seasonal brochure dedicated solely to its scarves and still today a third of the ground floor of its magnificent mock-Tudor London flagship store is devoted to scarves. A fabulous mixture of delicate pinks and peaches on a ground of hot pink verging on neon it’s both traditional and modern.
Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, lined in a layer of natural bamboo wadding, filled with new plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip. This feminine but statement piece will surely be an eye-catching addition to your interior. Would work particularly with a Bohemian or glam decor...

The silk is luxuriously soft to the touch with a subtle sheen. Founded by Arthur Liberty, the world famous British department store Liberty of London began trading in 1875 in a small shop called East India House, by the 1920s it was a leading establishment. Located in Belfast, Northern Ireland
This cushion is a one-of-a-kind and part of a sustainability project. (The original designer/brand has been fully credited below) Description: Custom-made one-of-a-kind pair of luxury cushions (pillows) created from an exquisite ‘vintage collection’ silk Echo fashion scarf in a peachy pink color with stylized Classic shell design. A very delicate silk in perfect unused condition and beautifully soft to the touch. From a vintage designer boutique in Palm Beach, Florida. In 1923 Americans Edgar & Theresa Hyman founded ‘Echo’ scarves on their wedding day, naming the company by using his initials. The business grew and was strong enough by 1929 to survive the Depression. Echo was one of the most prominent and prolific manufacturers of women’s patriotic scarves during wartime. They described the wartime culture and encourage optimism through propaganda, many displaying instructional directions. The scarves in this period used nylon and other non-essential fabric. Interestingly in 1984, ‘Echo’ became the sole licensee for Polo/Ralph Lauren scarf...

Rare Riessner and Kessel Amphora Ceramic Art Nouveau Pottery Basket
Located in Belfast, Northern Ireland
Rare Riessner and Kessel Amphora Ceramic Art Nouveau Pottery Basket
A charming and unusual piece from the well known ceramic factory Amphora of Riessner & Kessel in Turn-Teplitz. Made in the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the area called Bohemia, now referred to as the Czech Republic. In the form of a basket shape decorated with simulated ‘jewels’ of color. It displays a number of stamps and factory marks: Austria, a circular mark with double headed eagle which states Imperial Amphora and an impressed crown. It has two different Slavic townscapes including city walls and magical rooftops on each facade along with numerous star motifs depicted in different enamel colors. The firm’s most important works were made between 1894 and 1904, they were almost all in the Art Nouveau style with plants, animals, mythical creatures and, as in this case, an uncommon and desirable romantic medieval Bohemian landscape.
A very quant and rare collector’s item or unique home accessory. Would go with many of our vintage and antique one-of-a-kind cushions and pillows. A subpart ornament paired...

Rustic Vintage Ethnic Dhaka Pattern Purple Throw Rug from Nepal
Located in Belfast, Northern Ireland
Beautiful vintage ethnic heavyweight cloth that could be used as a stunning home accessory whether thrown over a sofa or laid on the floor as a rug, perhaps even as a wall hanging admired as a piece of artistry. Dhaka is the traditional handmade fabric of the indigenous ‘Limbu’ people of Eastern Nepal, it’s origin goes back several hundred years to the Terhathum district. It is very unique and its distinctive geometric patterns make it stand out from other ethnic cloths. The Dhaka pattern is best known in the form of a topi, a cap worn by men in traditional dress and by bridegrooms at weddings and is a symbol of Nepalese heritage. Here the soft but strong natural fibres have been woven in several charming soft colors with the visible this threads displaying a captivating texture. Ever so slightly faded in patches which add to it’s history, character and charm. No damage or restoration. This would look fabulous in a Bohemian, rustic or even traditional interior. It could also be used as a very elaborate and luxurious beach accessory in the form of a towel or bathroom matt. We have two different throws as well as some wonderful Dhaka fabric cushions (pillows) backed in Irish linen that would match.
Color: Purple, fuchsia pink, blue, black, white (off-white), orange and yellow, blanket, bed runner...
