About the Item

Khmer Ceramic Lime Pot. A squat globular stoneware jarlet with a high shoulder in the form of a bird covered in a brown glaze stopping short of the elevated foot displaying the beige biscuit, a owl’s beak and eyes in relief on the shoulder and pinched relief suggesting tail feathers on the opposing side, incised concentric rings around the mouth and vertical lines on the body. Condition: Tail feathers and base chipped, glaze flakes, otherwise good condition. 3 inches high x 3.5 inches in diameter (7.6 x 8.9cm). 5.6 oz. (161g). 12th Century.
