About the Item

A gorgeous four-panel hand painted Japanese Asian Byobu folding screen depicting a wildly and brilliantly colorful fully blooming Spring cherry blossom tree with a wonderful composition. The vibrant, rich colors and beautiful hand-painted detail of the tree branches and cherry blossom flowers make this unique work quite attractive. It is possible that this screen could be Korean or Chinese done in the Japanese Byobu fashion but we aren't sure either way. The screen is signed (in black ink) and sealed (in red) by the artist. Original decorative period brass hardware adds another wonderful touch. A very special work, this screen is sure to stand out in almost any Japanese/Asian Byobu screen collection or make for an eye catching stand alone accent artwork in about any setting whether used as a room divider or hung on the wall as a work of art. Approximate dimensions when fully extended: 36" high, 72" wide, .75" deep Approximate folded dimensions: 36" high, 18" wide, 3 deep.
