About the Item

1960-1970s Hand painted silk. Rice paper backing. Made in Japan. Six colorful Geisha surrounded by bamboo trees. Little details, a shamisen, or Japanese guitar, a rice paper scroll, a Geisha carrying a kimono, or hikizuri. Some are holding a sensu, or folding fan. Colors and prints painted on the Geisha popular for the time. Very mid century color palette. 4 separate, attached screens that unfold into one beautiful painting. Wood framing is most likely hinoki cypress. Mid height room divider, or screen. Knobbed feet on all sides of framing for ease of use and to lessen damage to screen. Almost 4 feet tall by 6 feet wide. Rice paper backing has some damage. There are a few where damage spots, pictured. I repurpose/ reuse shipping materials when possible.
