About the Item

This wooden bowl was crafted during the Taisho to early Showa periods from keyaki (zelkova) wood. The wood used is carved from the burl of the tree, resulting in a unique shape and texture. While its exact purpose is unclear, the striking presence and beautiful grain of the wood make it an appealing piece. What stands out most is the artistic form created by the natural burl of the wood. The intricate, intertwined grain creates a design that conveys the strength and vitality of nature. With a substantial thickness and a diameter of around 50 cm, this piece commands attention and serves as an exceptional object of display. Additionally, there are small insect holes, a feature that adds character and depth, indicative of its age. Please note that some wood dust may emerge during transportation. This wooden bowl is a true work of nature's art, effortlessly blending into any space and bringing warmth and harmony to its surroundings. Weight: 7.45kg [We mainly sell old Japanese items.
