Italian 18th century patinated Wood, Giltwood, and Faux Painted marble bust

About the Item

An impressive and most decorative Italian 18th century patinated Wood, Giltwood, and Faux Painted marble bust. This handsome bust of a soldier is raised by its original square faux marble base below a patinated off white circular socle with Giltwood accents on the top and bottom edge. The male bust above the socle has Giltwood shoulder decorations on the patinated off white body. The soldiers head is decorated with a patinated off white crown with additional gilt accents of foliate designs and a strap wrapped under his chin. The soldier displays a mustache which is a common way to differentiate between military and civilian men.
