About the Item

A fine old or antique porcelain figurine. By the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory. After the original model by Michel Victor Acier ca. 1775 From the 'Motto Child' series. Depicting Cupid resting or asleep with his head and arms atop a gilt pillar. Marked to the front of the plinth 'Las de rainere je me repose', which roughly translates to 'Tired of vanity, I rest'. Model number F7. Simply a wonderful Meissen figurine! Date: Late 19th or Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: The are losses to the left big toe. The right foots shows signs of repair with overpaint, as well as a chip. The golden bow lacks both or its ends. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Meissen Pattern: F7 Marks: Marked to the base with a blue underglaze crossed swords factory mark, an incised F7, an impressed 77, and a painted number 71. Measurements: Height: ca. 5 5/8 in.
