About the Item
A stunning early example studio pottery crystalline glazed porcelain bottle vase by renowned potter Peter Ilsley (British, 1923 – 2014) dating from the 20th century. The vase is finely potted standing on a narrow unglazed round base with a round bulbous shaped body with a tall narrow neck and small angled opening. The vase is decorated with exquisite purple lustre crystalline patterning on a green glazed ground with heavy concentration of the pattern around the bottom and upper vase. The green glazed area has a fine aged crazing to the glaze and the vase has an incised signature mark to the base. An early example of this sought after potters work.
Provenance: from the collection of a private gentleman and originating from the UK art market.
In good condition with some wear associated with age and use. Fine age crazing to the green glazed areas.
