Sonia Lewis Studio Ceramic Craquelure Glazed Bottle Vase
About the Item
A stunning studio ceramic porcelain bottle shaped vase decorated in a fine red outline craquelure patterning by Cambridgeshire based potter Sonia Lewis acquired from a large collection and believed to date from the latter 20th century. This finely potted vase stands on a flat unglazed round base with a tall rounded bottle shaped body with a shaped semi-circular ridge to the upper body and a tall slender neck with a roughly cut sharp slightly splayed opening. The body of the vase has a slight celadon tint with a busy craquelure patterning in red colored veining to the body and extending inside the top of the vase. The vase has an impressed artists seal mark to the base along with an address and exhibition label. Sonia Lewis with seal mark.
Provenance: Acquired from a large private collection and acquired in the UK Art Market.
