About the Item

This is a very good, dinner plate by Mason's ironstone, England in a very decorative, hand painted floral pattern, dating to circa 1845. This is a rare pattern. The Plate is circular in shape with a wavy moulded edge. This plate has a beautiful hand enamelled floral chinoiserie influenced patterns, which depicts a large flower with other floral sprigs, all set against a black ground, producing a very decorative effect. The base of the plate has an angular crown mark and banner, with Mason's above, printed in green. This plate dates to the mid 19th century, circa 1840s period.
