Dutch Delft Large Dish with Chinoiserie Dragon Design

Dutch Delft Large Dish with Chinoiserie Dragon Design,
Circa 1700
The large Dutch Delft dish with a Chinoiserie design after the Kangxi is centered by a dragon amongst stylized flowering branches. The rim has six reserves with similar stylized floral motifs, alternating with panels of trellis cross-hatching and the rim in iron red. The foot rim is pierced to the underside for hanging.
Dimensions: 13 1/2 inch diameter x 1 1/2 inches high
Provenance: Private PA Collection,
With James M. Kilvington, Dover, Delaware.
Condition: No restoration and with a few small frits to the iron-red rim.
Reference: Les Faiences de Delft, Jan Boyanzoglu Louis de Neuville, Page 131, #142, for a similar dish attributed to Jan Theunis Dextra who worked at the Greek A factory and De Dissel.

Dutch Delft shaped Chinoiserie Polychrome plaque,
Circa 1730-40
The shaped plaque has a raised molded border decorated with a series of alternating painted panels of flowers and Chinese auspicious objects. The central scene is painted with a slightly off-center table with a vase filled with flowers and a large parrot perched on the branches. Several flying bugs can be seen around the flowers. To the left is a gardener with two watering pots at his feet. The whole in a puce, yellow and green palette. The top is surmounted with a blue shell pierced with a suspension hole. The exterior rim of the plaque in blue.
Dimensions: 8 7/8 inches high x 9 3/4 inches x 1/2 inch depth.
