Highly decorated and collectable Delft fish plate with drip tray made by Royal Tichelaar, Friesland, the Netherlands. The drip tray rest on a tripod foot and is decorated with 3 fishes and on the other side an overal floral decoration with a touch of manganese. The plates are handcrafted an painted and dated 1940s. Condition: very good on the rim minor lost of tinglaze which I consider as a feature Width drip tray ear to ear 15.7 inches - 40cm Diameter plate 13.8 inches - 35cm Royal Tichelaar employs the traditional majolica technique, applying decoration onto the unfired tin glaze rather than beneath it.
