About the Item

A rare high Art Deco blue over orange amber cut bowl, in a boat shape - it is cut with leaves and abstract patterns some cut to the Amber orange layer and some cut to clear - dating from 1925 or soon after - this bowl is in one of the recently identified patterns of Loetz cut glass -see 'A Study of (Loetz) cut glass production' by Kai Hasselbach -on the Loetz website. The blue is highly iridised whereas the amber background is matte. Although this exact combination is not listed both the pattern and the shape are documented (Pattern see section 42, Shape image 3.03) Loetz was and still is probably the most famous and most collected of the great Bohemian glass makers
