Czech Art Deco Zelezny Brod School Signed and Dated Biplane Glass Bowl

About the Item

A very rare signed and dated bowl from the Zelezny Brod glass school, signed J L and dated 1937 (alas we do not know who J L was) it also has the original Zelezny Brod school label, the blank (undecorated bowl) is almost certainly by Riedel. Lavender in colour it was designed to show off the student skills in cutting, etching and sandblasting. There are biplanes, clouds, moon and stars. The School opened in 1920 and still exists today.
