About the Item

Twelve cups with saucers made of the finest eggshell porcelain, whitish shards, colored decor with an exceptionally large spectrum of floral motifs and birds in the Art Nouveau style, in the original case. Manufactory Rozenburg Founded in 1883/84 as 'Haagsche Plateelbakkerij Rozenburg' in the Netherlands, in 1899 development of a mass similar to frit porcelain that could be processed very thinly - the so-called 'eggshell porcelain'. Rozenburg products are among the most valuable ceramic products of Art Nouveau today. Manufactory: Rozenburg / Den Haag / Netherlands Dating: manufactured around 1907 Material and technique: porcelain / chinaware / painted / glazed (glossy finish) Painter: i.a. Samuel SCHELLINK (1876 - 1958) who was a Dutch ceramic decorator, painter, engraver, ceramist, pastelist and painter of watercolors and gouaches, known for his eggshell porcelain painting, worked for Rozenburg from 1892 to 1914.
