About the Item

A stylish vintage British studio pottery twin handled bowl by renowned potter Jane Hamlyn and made at Millfield Pottery near Doncaster. The rounded stoneware bowl has impressed wheel markings and circular markings with moulded patterned handles to either side of the rim and is decorated in brown and blue salt glazes with a slightly textured finish. With an impressed JH seal mark to the lower edge. Provenance: The Ann Horlock Stringer collection. Ann was married to Harry Horlock-Stringer (1927-2014), a potter, and both were passionate about studio pottery. Much of their collection was purchased from friends and also from the Craftsman Potters' Association ship, exhibitions and galleries.
