Dansk Teak "SPHERE" Pepper Mill Peppermill Quistgaard JHQ IHQ Denmark

About the Item

Collectible and highly sought-after Jens Harald Quistgaard Dansk teak pepper miil / salt shaker from the 1960's. Model # 855. Made in Denmark. This piece consist of Salt shaker and Pepper mill and was handcrafted of beautifully grained Siamese teakwood with a natural finish. This peppermill comes with the earliest type of metal grinding mechanism made by PEUGEOT Freres Lion, France. This is the early variation of this shape with large solid teakwood hand carved salt stopper verses later design with cork base plug. The peppermill is 8" (20 cm) tall and is in excellent vintage condition. The top salt shaker has 12 holes and rare large carved solid teakwood plug. The salt stopper has a snug fit. The bottom of the peppermill has black plastic plug that covers the insertion hole. The bottom of the peppermill is marked with the earliest embossed logo: " Dansk Desings LTD. Denmark JHQ ". No major wood damage anywhere. It looks the teakwood was well cared for and oiled regularly. Original rich patina preserved preserved beautifully and looks gorgeous. We tested the grinding mechanism. It works perfect by producing fine grind pepper
