About the Item
A fine and impressive antique George III English sterling silver sugar basket; an addition to our Georgian silverware collection

The surface of this fine example of Georgian silverware is plain and unembellished.
The rim of the body and foot are ornamented with an applied thread decorated border.
The basket retains the original hallmarked thread decorated swing handle; the handle has the identical incurved form of the body and paralleling collet foot.
This impressive basket, crafted by the London plateworker William Stroud, has a gilded interior.
