Paul Storr Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Soup Tureen Dish

A magnificent, fine and impressive, large antique Georgian English sterling silver soup tureen made by Paul Storr in the Adams style, an addition to our range of collectable dining silverware. This magnificent antique George III sterling silver soup tureen has a plain oval shaped form onto a plain oval spreading pedestal foot to a collet rim, in the classic English Adam style. The surface of this impressive soup tureen is plain and unembellished. The upper rim of the tureen is ornamented with an impressive applied rope twist border accented with a simple leaf design to either side. This antique soup tureen retains the original hallmarked push fit domed cover, surmounted with an impressive reed decorated handle enveloped with chased decorated leaf designs to the terminals. The tureen is fitted with fine and impressive angular loop handles embellished with plain moulded ornamentation. The stepped portion of the pedestal foot is encircled with a border reflecting the same design as that of the body. This antique soup tureen was crafted by the very important and renowned London silversmith Paul Storr, the item reflects the exceptional quality and standard associated with this maker. Condition This Georgian soup tureen is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The applied and chased decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the rim of the foot are all very clear, hallmarks are deeply struck and sharp due to the exceptional gauge of silver. The part hallmarks to the sleeve of the cover are also very clear with exception to the second portion of the maker's mark which is rubbed, in keeping with age and due to the location. This magnificent antique George IV English sterling silver soup tureen has an oval rounded form. The lower portion of the body is encompassed with impressive chased fluted decoration in a subtle swirl design. The decoration to the body incorporates an impressive scrolling leaf bordered cartouche to either side, each displaying an exceptional contemporary bright cut engraved marital coat of arms* depicting on the dexter a chevron between three crosses paty and the sinister a quadrangular castle.     A fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver soup tureen; an addition to our silver dining collection This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver soup tureen has a plain oval shaped form onto a plain oval domed spreading foot. The surface of this piece is embellished with a bright cut engraved crest of on a chapeau turned up a lion rampant supporting an arrow palewise feathered and headed to one side. This antique silver soup tureen retains the original hallmarked push fit cover, surmounted with the original hallmarked detachable shaped scrolling handle with acanthus leaf decoration. The antique silver soup tureen is fitted with thread decorated loop handles with acanthus leaf terminals. Condition This antique silver soup tureen is an excellent gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition. This piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body have wear in keeping with age and location, but all remain legible.
