The work of Carl-Harry Stalhane, who supported the golden age of Rorstrand with Gunnar Nylund and was active as a designer and art director.
The body of the vessel has a sturdy form, and the delicate lid knob, handle, and spout are superbly balanced. The black matte glaze that covers the entire body and the tea glaze that peeks out in places give the teapot an air of elegance.
The teapot is strongly influenced by Japanese and Chinese ceramics.
