About the Item

A fine vintage George VI English sterling silver four-piece tea and coffee service in the Art Deco style; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This exceptional vintage sterling silver tea set consists of a coffee jug, teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl. Each piece of this fine set has a plain rectangular cushion shaped form onto a stepped collet style base with Art Deco bracket style feet. The surface of this impressive vintage Art Deco tea set is plain and unembellished, with an applied reed decorated border to the upper portions. The coffee jug and teapot are fitted with hallmarked hinged covers and retain the original Art Deco style painted carved wood finials; the hinge to each piece is ornamented with an applied pendant drop design. The teapot and coffee pot are fitted with angular Art Deco style carved painted wood handles featuring a plain rounded thumbpiece to the upper plateau. The cream jug and sugar bowl are fitted with angular Art Deco style sterling silver handles, matching the design of the teapot and coffee pot handle. Condition This vintage tea and coffee service is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each piece and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover of the teapot and coffee pot are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this set of vintage teaware. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver four-piece tea and coffee service, an addition to our silver teaware collection This exceptional, antique Edwardian four piece sterling silver tea and coffee service consists of a coffee pot, teapot, cream jug and sugar basket. Each piece of this fine Chester silver tea set has an oval rounded form, all in the Queen Anne style. The body of each piece is ornamented with panels of fluted decoration, incorporating a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a wolf chained and collared to one side. The upper rim of each piece is ornamented with an applied moulded border. Both the coffee pot and teapot are fitted with hinged hallmarked domed covers surmounted by the original carved painted wood and sterling silver topped pineapple finials. The silver teapot and coffee pot retain the original carved painted wood handles, featuring a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The cream jug is fitted with an elongated C shaped silver handle and the sugar basket a swing handle, each ornamented with reed decoration. The silver coffee pot, cream jug and sugar basket are each supported by a plain and unembellished oval pedestal foot.
